A huge clamoring crowd of 2 snowshoers showed for today's expedition. No problem! The snowy branches, breezes clearing the clouds away , and fresh fox tracks were just as beguiling as if we were 20 in number on our trek.
We started from the Glenden Dog Park and through neighbourhood trails, up the Royal Bumps to join the Woodpecker Trail System.
Rodd was the official trail
videographer. Check Facebook for his video.
We went to the Slipper Lake Lookout. The lake is mostly snow covered with dark spots showing direction of currents. Soon there will be ice huts adding colorful touches to the lake!!
There was a light breeze which occasionally rattled branches and treetops. The silence of the trail always returned.
That light NE breeze certainly had more of a bite as we returned through the Washington Snowdump area.
Our distance was about 5 km. A good distance for an early season snowshoe trek .
