Hi Phil,
Fourteen hikers showed up this cloudy minus 2 Celsius morning, minus our two leaders, who were basking under warm sunny skies no
doubt, and after some good old Canadian Democratic indecision we headed to the tailings area north of Dunlop Lake between Bender
and Evans Lakes. No complaints of too many hills on this one. We followed the maintenance road to the end which meant no need for
snowshoes but lots of time for friendly chatter. We managed to find a sheltered spot for lunch, as there was a slight breeze, and on
the return trip the sun managed to poke through the cloud cover and melt some of the snow cover on the road. A nice easy, pleasant
Saturday hike with a recap of the outing at Tim's.
