Eleven Coureurs de Bois made their way to Rye Lake along a machine tracked trail. Snow shoes made walking on the trail much easier given the soft, loose snow.
Unfortunately, no wildlife signs were evident along the trail, only pristine snow all around, drooping off trees and blanketing the evergreens. Even our voices were muffled by the heavy blanket of snow around us. The wind kept us off the point, sheltering in the trees for our break.
The hike was pleasant, the conversations lively and the scenery lovely.
Any opportunity to be out in the woods is worthwhile, especially with like minded people.
